REFELECTIONS ON THE G8 PROTESTS: MAKE POVERTY HISTORY
From Trident Ploughshares business the night before - to our first action together in clown bus - up early to beat the rush to MPH - bus to Kelvin bridge - as I walk over bridge a thrill of excitement runs through me as I see other clowns ready to go - flashes of pink enthused with green camouflage - the bus arrives and we load up late and take off - we may only get within a couple of miles of Edinburgh centre what with road closures I saw on internet - - we may have to march in - but we get closer and closer until I see we are in Haymarket and I am elated at getting this close - up Caledonian Road to the Meadows - a cop waves us through a barrier (he only sees a bus) and we are driving through the Meadows - look for a side street to park on - we are not far from Bristo Square - then suddenly - Bristo Square comes into view and - even better - the Clown buses! - and we are here! - gaggles of clowns fuss over make up
