REFELECTIONS ON THE G8 PROTESTS: DUNGAVEL


up early and out - meet Ian neighbour and bus arrives right on cue to Kelvin Bridge and walking over bridge I see Inigo - all feathers and pink - a giant Basque chicken - the excitement is here again as we wait for the bus - Ray arrives and we eventually pile in - familiar drive out to Faslane - on way i see signs saying - ‘Road to Faslane Closed’ - a cheer goes up as I explain what this means - the base is cosed! - we park up and I am excited - I have never seen so many vehicles parked along the green by the peace camp - after much clowning up again we march to peace camp - Alex!! - a big hug - I am not to see him again during G8 - then over road and march down to South Gate - as we approach a cheer goes up from aseembled blockaders - we march as close as we can then - Clowns Scatter! - and we run up to the gate to form a line of clowns in front of the police line - again they are nervous - not used to this scenario - I bend and help a guy in a lock on and put sun cream on his face as Robin Hood r
